Just the Stats, ma'mm!

Today, it's all about the stats on your blog.  Many web sites offer statistics for bloggers to view on their dashboard.  They become an important tool for authors blogging because they show info that can be used to target the audience and when they read your blog.  Some are detailed, and others are just basic info.   If you don't have stats on your blog, you can use Google Analytics and accomplish the same thing.  I utilize blog stats and the…See More

Snagging That Coveted Review

Finding a magazine to review your book can feel like a daunting task.  Today, I'd like to share my experience of how I was able snag my first review by a successful knitting magazine, 2008 Fall Issue of Knitting (UK). Sometimes the person at the top, who you think is responsible for accepting your book for review, may be so overwhelmed with work that they don't notice or loose your request for a review.  I've found, as with most businesses, the assistant comes to the rescue!  I've been an…See More

Hi Margaret,

I forgot to tell you about the regular feature that I do on Tilly's Blog. I call it 'Friends from around the World' and it features Tilly's doggie friends from around the globe. If you'd like your Yorkie featured I'd be happy to do so and give him/her a bit of well-deserved recognition. All I need is some information about your dog and of course, a photo or two and I can plan a feature for you. If you do eventually get a Tilly Sweater too we can always add a photo of your doggie wearing it later as well.

Best wishes

Brian

Hello Margaret,

Thanks so much for adding me as a friend. I'm so pleased that you are considering one of 'Tilly's' sweaters for your Yorkie. They are very good quality, I must say. I hope you manage to get to read the book one day too. Tilly is a very special little dog and I've never known one who is quite so attached to a human. She never leaves my side, and is sat on my feet even now as I'm typing. She is also so talented. It makes it so hard to understand how she could have been mistreated in the first place!

I'm very pleased also that you are interested in Legacy of the Ripper. 'Legacy' is actually the sequel to my award winning 'A Study in Red - The Secret Journal of Jack the Ripper' which is currently being made into a movie, so perhaps you would be best to read that one first before Legacy. I've also just finished the final part of my ripper trilogy and 'Requiem for the Ripper' is scheduled by the publisher for a Summer 2010 release.

I see you're also friends with my good friend Sheila Deeth, a lovely lady. She stops by Tilly's blog regularly at http://tillyrescuedog.blogspot.com/

I hope you're having a great day and will look forward to hearing more from you in the future.

Best regards

Brian (and Tilly of course)

Thanks for your comment EA! It's a great way to socialize - there are groups forming everywhere. Check in with the local yarn store in your area or go online. I keep a link posted on knit1fortheroad.com that I think is helpful called KnitMap which lists all the info on knitting and crochet in your area. I'm currently working on crochet patterns, too! Stay tuned :) M

Margaret, I've spent the last ten minutes poking around in your interviews and reading your page. Knitting, what a wonderful idea. I crochet, or used to, and found such joy in it. I used to knit, but can't remember how. Maybe I should buy you book and learn. Thanks for the friendship.
