I have a new site up it is http://stopthecycle.wordpress.com go over there and is you have a story to tell let me know, I will be happy to add you as a contributor. You would not believe the response I am getting - WE have to make others aware of what happens in an abusive relationship we have to educate those who have nevere been there and help those who are in one to get out before it is to late.

Becky, A wonderful offer that I imagine I would enjoy reading, however I'm neither victim or abuser and, for the sake of getting copies those that it could affect the most seriously, I'll leave this offer for others.
Peace and Love,
papaed

I have been speaking a Brown Collage to help the people in Criminology dept speak about abuse as a woman in Prostitution, I was in it for 13 years I can help women get away from the abuser if you will listen to me? I know you have to want to get away, The abuser will always say what you want to hear ..They tell you they will never do it again! Oh Yes but you know better. But you are so much in love with the guy that you stay and take the abuse. Lets all get together and end the abuse once and for all. Come and speak out against him and all abusers join me on my blog EX Prostitutes & Survivors I am a survivor and need you to join me so we can get on the talk showes about this abuse of these men as they call them selfs men. I have another word for them. Best to you all Jane

This is a great group to start, and I have started to write an story on abuse. I will post it for those who want can read it. This is a little bit from my own life, along with fiction nonetheless it's still a very real problem in our society.

Another ABC Story (a poem by debileah)

Another story, this time it happens to be about me
Beaten, battered, abused and so damn confused
Cold hearted and cruel was he, but this I could never quite see
Drunk half the time and quite out of his mind
Each time he would drink, his personality would change
For the worst, he would rage at me and he would curse
Guess you could say this became an every day occurrence
Hitting me became his only means of control and assurance
I was afraid to leave more than I was to stay, until one day I ran away
Just as fast as I could run, I ran with my life so tired of being a battered wife
Kept on running and never looked back until now
Left him the night he nearly killed me with his fists in my face
My ribs were cracked, my eyes were black, and I was disgraced
No longer would he be able to hurt, I finally left him for good
One more beating I could not have stood, he knew it as well as I
Packed up my children and said good bye with tears in my eyes
Questions racing through my mind, of how I would live without him
Reflecting upon the good times and the bad, and the situation at hand
Scarred inside, bruised on the outside, so tired of living in fear
The first time he ever showed his violent side, I should have left him
Under no circumstance should I ever have stayed, I know that now
Very insecure I was at the time, he knew it and he played on it
Women with low self-esteem like I had, don’t seem to understand this
X-ray vision is what we need to see through this kind of man
You know it takes a lot of courage to break the cycle of violence
Zany as this poem may seem, I hope I can help someone else to break free

I felt compelled to write on the tragedy of this subject... as posted on my site:

SOUL SCARS

I cry for the soul scars of the oppressors
those born to hurt, to hate,
and to spread soul tearing abuse
and to be of little use

I cry for the soul scars of the oppressed
those born to minority, to humble sadness,
to feel undeserved pain
and to have their spirit slain

I cry for the soul scars of gentle spirits
those helpless to prevent imposed injustice
who discover too late the needful action
who stood motionless as a reaction

I cry for the soul scars of self absorbed spirits
those who look away,
who deny with aggressive apathy
who hold, but hide their sympathy

I cry and pray to know my role
before I suffer my role’s tole

Wow, Becky. Eighty percent of kids who witness such acts go out and do the same things themselves? No wonder this is such a problem.

Considering kids learn so much before they even reach school, reaching them and attempting to reason with them later on in life is going to be tough. Still, it's obviously worth the effort! We must try to reach as many of those whom we can.
